GILLINGHAM, DORSET

So onto the next project, a house on the outskirts of Gillingham, Dorset. This house is to have all the doors and windows outside revarnished. They were on their last legs before the weather got into the wood. The old varnish had to be removed which was not hard as most of it was flaking off. Doors and windows are to be sanded back all the way to the wood. A restain as an undercoat then two further coats of heavy duty varnish applied over the top.

This project took 3 weeks to complete. I had to take 3 days off due to the bad weather which was great for me as I got to have some time off. The windows and doors have come up very well and the owner, who was very worried at one point that he had allowed them to deteriorate so much, is, to coin a footballing term, "over the moon" with how they have come up. As I told him it's all in the prep work!
And now on to the next one, a small job in Westbury Leigh, Wiltshire followed by another small job on the outskirts of Bristol.
